Nathan Followill of Kings of Leon x Nashville Aesthetic Dentistry:

When Nashville Aesthetic Dentistry's Dr. Weese commissioned a custom scorpion grill for Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill, the only logical next step was a full portrait session to document it. This was not your average headshot day. We are talking a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art, a rock legend, and a whole lot of energy in the room. Style Dentlab brought the craftsmanship, Dr. Weese brought the vision, and Nathan brought exactly the kind of presence you would expect from someone who has been selling out arenas for two decades.

For the shoot, I kept the setup intentional and clean: two strip boxes for directional, sculpted light with controlled falloff, paired with a Photek umbrella to open things up just enough, all against a Savage universal canvas background that gave the images that timeless, editorial feel. The grill deserved its close-up, and we made sure it got one. Equal parts portrait session and artifact documentation, with a little rock and roll thrown in for good measure.
